An exhibition on gay animal behaviour immediately got my attention, probably because it is the first time such a controversial issue has been exhibited in such a renowned scientific museum like the Oslo Natural History Museum.Second because I am definitely tired of messing around with men that act worse than animals but pretend to be better.
The exhibition is very small, around 200sqm but is extremely interesting and well presented. For the first time in my life I spent time reading every single explanation, which wereboth in Norwegian and in English.
As my trip to Oslo was a city break weekend I didn't pay too much attention to receiving a speed lesson in Norwegian from a stunning Viking, but if I had more time .. I find Norwegian men kind and masculine which means another trip to Oslo is a must do!
I appreciated the English version very much, the pictures were nice and the entire presentation is one of the best I have ever seen.
I discovered that even animals have sex for pleasure and not only for reproduction needs, that swans tend to be monogamous during all their lives, while other species tend to be wild and have casual sex, sex is even a way to create strong bonds in certain groups.Penguins have the highest percentage of gay couples, and a couple of flamingo males can hold a larger space and nurse more chicks than a regular flamingo pair.
This exhibition should be sent to other scientific institutions around the world similar to the Oslo Natural History Museum and not downgraded to sex museums. It would be preferable that it keeps the high scientific standard like in Oslo.
Hopefully a catalogue of the exhibition will be available soon as it is much needed.

Another must do while in the capital. At present "The Scream" is not in display, it will be back in one year after restoration. The other copy also by Munch is visible at the National Gallery.
