Jungfraujoch Top of Europe. Every good boy knows that the real problem of our time isn't global warming but the massive shortage of top hung men in this planet. No surprise everything that have those three magic letters T O P in its name get my attention!
As a Swiss I am often ask which places to visit in my beloved country. Definitly Switzerland is full of interesting corner.
Still Switzerland is home of the Alps and in my mind with no doubt I can say that the best overview on this region is in Switzerland.

You haven't been to the Alps if you haven't been to the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe.
The Jungfrau Railway, pioneer of all mountain railways, began operating a year-round service from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch in 1912 . The mountain terminus is the Jungfraujoch, altitude 3454 metres, where Europe's highest-altitude railway station is housed in two underground station halls.
The railway was planned to be operated by electricity right from the start. Today it operates using 1125V three-phase current with two parallel track systems.

The most important stretch is the 7km long tunnel through the rock of the Eiger and Mönch. Two intermediate stations, Eigerwand and Eismeer are situated in caverns blasted from solid rock. Both have panorama windows giving absolutely breathtaking views of the Alpine world.
During the journey to the top an interesting video is shown and prerecorded message talk about the extraordinary vision to build such a high railway and in the way this was done.

The spectacular view from Eigerwand and Eismeer is overshadow by the stunning view on top from the Jungfraujoch station.
If you are looking for a WOW effect, this is the place, weather permitting.

The Jungfraujoch, is in the heart of a glorious glacier world on the very roof of Europe! Superb views extend as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km the longest ice-stream in the Alps, begins on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.

In Summer (June-September): ski & snowboard park, husky-drawn sledge rides, adventure attractions: e.g. Tyrolienne, snow disk are interesting option offered to the visitor.

Visiting the Jungfraujoch is an experience that cannot be missed.
